Egyptian Strawberry Inspection

Europe's Winter Strawberries. Verified Before They Ship.

Independent, ISO 17020-accredited inspection of Egyptian strawberries, fresh punnets and frozen IQF, at the packhouse or freezing facility before export. We catch the residue, decay and cold-chain issues that get strawberry consignments rejected at the EU border.

What We Check

Grade & Presentation: Color, size, shape and defect counts checked punnet by punnet against your specification

Brix & Firmness: Brix, firmness and ripeness measured on-site to confirm eating quality and shelf life

MRL & Residue Risk: Sampling for accredited laboratory analysis against EU/UK maximum residue limits

Cold Chain & Transit: Pre-cooling, temperatures and container condition verified before sealing

Where strawberries shipments actually go wrong

The failure modes we check for, learned at Egyptian packhouses, not in an office.

01

Pesticide residues & EU MRLs

Strawberries are among the most residue-scrutinized products entering the EU, and Egyptian consignments face reinforced border checks. We sample for accredited MRL analysis before shipment, so you are not the one who discovers the problem.

02

A fragile, fast-moving fruit

Strawberries lose condition in hours, not days. Bruising, leaking punnets and grey mould that start at the packhouse become claims at destination. We grade fruit and packaging while there is still time to sort or repack.

03

Cold chain from field to reefer

Fresh berries must be pre-cooled fast and held near 0-2 C; frozen IQF must stay at -18 C. We verify pulp temperatures, pre-cooling and reefer set-points before the container is sealed.

04

Frozen & IQF integrity

For frozen strawberries, clumping, under-frozen cores and foreign matter are invisible on paperwork. We inspect at the freezing facility and supervise loading.

A complete quality assessment for strawberries

Every critical parameter, checked against your contract and destination-market rules.

Grade, Size & Appearance

Color, size, shape and defect counts checked punnet by punnet against your specification, with defects quantified per lot, not guessed.

Brix & Firmness

Brix, firmness and ripeness measured on-site to confirm eating quality and shelf life, so what is inside the pack matches what is on the label.

Pesticide & MRL Risk

Representative sampling of your strawberries for accredited laboratory analysis against EU/UK maximum residue limits, the top cause of border rejections.

Cold Chain & Transit

Pre-cooling, product temperatures and reefer settings verified so your strawberries survive the journey in the condition you paid for.

Packaging & Labeling

Packaging condition, net weights, counts, traceability codes and labeling accuracy (origin, variety, class) checked for compliance.

Documentation & Traceability

Phytosanitary readiness, lot traceability and packhouse hygiene assessed so the shipment clears smoothly at destination.

Varieties & programs, season roughly November to March for fresh, year-round for frozen

From the Delta and Ismailia growing regions, fresh and frozen.

Festival

The workhorse of the Egyptian season, early, bright and travel-hardy.

Fortuna

Large, glossy fruit for premium retail punnets.

Sensation

A newer variety gaining ground for flavor and firmness.

Frozen / IQF

Whole, sliced or diced IQF from freezing facilities, checked for clumping, foreign matter and cold-chain integrity.

Egyptian strawberries inspection: your questions answered

What importers ask before booking an independent inspection in Egypt.

What does an Egyptian strawberries inspection cover?

An ISO 17020-accredited inspector checks your strawberries at origin before export: color, size, shape and defect counts checked punnet by punnet against your specification; Brix, firmness and ripeness measured on-site to confirm eating quality and shelf life; packaging and labeling; cold chain; and pesticide/MRL residue risk, all documented with 40+ photos and a clear pass/fail report.

Why are Egyptian strawberries shipments rejected or downgraded on arrival?

The leading causes are pesticide residues above EU maximum residue limits, decay and grey mould from delayed pre-cooling, temperature abuse in transit, and labeling errors. For frozen strawberries, foreign matter and under-frozen product are the main risks. An inspection at origin catches these before loading.

Which varieties and seasons do you cover for Egyptian strawberries?

We inspect Festival, Fortuna and Sensation fresh strawberries from roughly November to March, and frozen IQF strawberries year-round at freezing facilities across the Delta and Ismailia regions.

Do you test for pesticide residues?

Yes. When required, we collect representative samples for accredited laboratory analysis against EU or UK maximum residue limits, so you have residue data before the shipment leaves Egypt rather than after a border rejection.

How fast can you inspect a shipment?

Most inspections are scheduled within 48 hours of your request, and the report is delivered within 24 hours of the on-site visit, in time to act before the container is sealed.

How much does an Egyptian strawberries inspection cost?

It depends on the product, volume and location. We provide a tailored, no-obligation quote within 24 hours, just send us your shipment details.
